"Davidson's location offers the best of all worlds."
- Eric Arnold '01

Atlanta, GA

Located near the foothills region of North Carolina, Davidson offers a moderate climate with year-round appeal. It is ideally situated for the seasons; brilliant fall colors and the occasional winter snow, abundant spring flora and summers near Lake Norman. Within two to four hours of Davidson, one can enjoy the Atlantic coast or Appalachian mountains, from wind surfing to snow boarding.

Cultural, athletic, and global commercial venues are just 20 minutes away in Charlotte, N.C. In addition to Davidson's own Duke Family Performance Hall, the Blumenthal, Mint Museum, and Charlotte Coliseum offer extensive performance and exhibit schedules. Professional athletics are also a popular diversion year-round. Charlotte's professional community actively partners with the college to provide internship and research opportunities to Davidson students.

Regional historic sites range from Kings Mountain to Kitty Hawk, Bethania to the Biltmore Estate. The Town of Davidson presents its own historic charm. Newcomers consistently find a warm welcome, a friendly blend of tradition and appreciation for new ideas. We invite you to experience all that Davidson and the surrounding area have to offer.

"Davidson is a place where drivers stop to let pedestrians cross Main Street; where saying 'hi' to complete strangers is not only acceptable but expected; where bands still play on the town green for dancing children and picnicing parents. Davidson is a community 'where everybody knows your name.' Most of the time this is one of the best aspects of the town. However, if claustrophobia begins to set in, the anonymity of Charlotte and its many diversions is just minutes away."

"The proximity of Charotte's artistic venues is great. A friend and I subscribed to the opera series last year: a mere thirty-minute drive separated us from a spectacular production of Verdi's Aida."
