Exchange Programs
Davidson College has cooperative arrangements with Howard University
and Morehouse College which provide students opportunities for study
at campuses with significant African-American student, faculty and staff
populations. Study may be arranged for a year or a semester.
Second Family Programs
African-American freshmen and sophomore students have the option to
participate in a "Second Family" program with selected faculty and staff.
Under the auspices of the Academic Affairs and Dean of Students Offices,
this program facilitates students' adjustment to campus by giving them
an opportunity to develop a rapport with established members of the
college. The "second family" and student develop one-to-one relationships
via participation in various activities of mutual interest.
