The Davidson College Public Safety Office is located in Tomlinson Hall. Our regular business hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday We can be reached by dialing 704-894-2178 for a non-emergency situation and 911 for all emergencies.

Further, if a call is placed to (704) 894-2178 and nobody is available to take your call, you will be transferred to Cornelius Police Dispatch. Simply advise them of your need and a police officer will be dispatched to assist you.

All police officers employed by the Davidson College Department of Public Safety are certified law enforcement officers through the State of North Carolina. Our officers have the authority to make arrests and charge for infractions. Furthermore, our officers undergo routine training in areas of firearms proficiency, use of force, diversity, and blood-borne pathogens, just to name a few.

Our highest priority is to ensure that the Davidson College community is secure in person and property. In doing so, we have established very close working relationships with the surrounding police agencies and hold a mutual aid agreement with each.

The Davidson College Department of Public Safety is a full-service law enforcement agency. We provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
