The new Josh Peklo '97

christened and ready to row!

13 March 2005

DAVIDSON, N.C. – On Sunday, March 13th, Davidson's Crew gathered at the Lake Campus along with alumni, parents, and faculty to dedicate our new Vespoli Ultralite 4+.  Given by Jay Hinton '97, Dr. Janice B McCall and Mr. W. Gary McCall, the Josh Peklo '97, is a symbol for how far Davidson Crew has come in the past 12 years.  Davidson Crew President Sarah Wing, Mr. Gary McCall, and Jay Hinton each spoke to the crowd, and all conveyed similar sentiments.  The speakers emphasized how far this crew has come in twelve short years, how much there is to be thankful for, and how important the present members of crew are to the longetivity of Crew at Davidson.  Following tradition, the bow of the Josh Peklo was drenched in Champagne and a demonstration row was performed by the Varsity Women's team and former coxswain, Adrienne McCall.
