Artist Series
Committee Chair: Travis McElroy
This committee produces C. Shaw & Nancy K. Smith
Artist Series events, arranging transportation, hospitality, and publicity, including promoting season ticket sales. These events include music, dance, theatre, and other types of art/entertainment, such as BREAK! The Urban Funk Spectacular, Second City Comedy Troupe, and RENT The Musical. These shows
often involve accompanying workshops, allowing students to gain unique hands-on experience. Almost
all Artist Series shows are held in the Duke Family Performance Hall, entertaining audiences of around 600 or more people.
The current committee selects the
artists that will perform the following academic year.
Committee members may help with:
-publicizing season tickets
-publicizing individual events
-transportation for artists
-hospitality for artists
-picking artists for next year
