After orientation, students usually need time to find their way into campus life. Family Weekend is scheduled to meet the needs of parents to see how things are going and the needs of students to touch base with home. Family Weekend for 2003-2004 will be October 24-26. The schedule includes programs for parents, the fall theatre production, sports events, and more. Information will be mailed to all parents well in advance. There will be opportunities to talk to faculty members and learn more about Davidson. The weekend also provides an occasion to visit informally with your student and his/her friends.

In the spring, many parents find Spring Awards Convocation and Alumni Weekend a rewarding time to visit the campus again. The seniors march in caps and gowns, the college presents awards and honorary degrees, and there are activities in which parents and students can share.

We also encourage parents and their students to use the Carnegie Guest House as a place to meet when coming to campus. Located between the President's House and E.H. Little Residence Hall, it has an area to sit, rest, read or use the telephone while waiting to meet your child. The Carnegie Guest House is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
