Registration at Davidson is based on a random number priority system in which all students have the opportunity to register for one class before any student is registered in two. Students make course preference requests in the spring and fall for the following semester. Most students do not receive a full schedule at the outset. Students complete the registration process on the Web and on campus during specified periods before the beginning of each semester and during the first two weeks of class.

All students are required to take four courses per semester, and the college insures that they receive four courses during the registration process. However, the college cannot guarantee that a student will be able to enroll in any particular course. Enrollments are guided by stated course ceilings, stated prerequisites, space requirements, the random number priority system, and academic determinations. Questions or concerns about a student's schedule should be directed to his or her faculty advisor.
