Vail Commons
Open to all students, Vail is the main dining facility on the Davidson campus. An attractive facility located in the heart of the residence hall complex, at mealtime the Commons becomes more than a place to satisfy nutritional needs; it becomes a social center for the college community.

All first year students participate in contract dining, with a wide variety of meal contracts available. Upperclass students have more flexibility in plans offered each semester.

The menu is designed to offer a variety of foods to satisfy nutritional needs of students with selections available for those who favor standard, vegetarian, or sandwich items. A cereal bar and pizza bar are standard fare, as well as a full salad bar during lunch and dinner service. A registered dietitian is on the Commons staff and is available for nutrition counseling and dietary evaluations.

The Café in Alvarez College Union
The Café is located on the third floor of the college union and offers made to order sandwiches as well as pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, and many specialty sandwiches. A "grab and go" station has pre-made sandwiches and salads for those in a hurry. Snack items, a large variety of beverages, breakfast fare, and smoothies are available in this location. Late night hours make this especially inviting when hunger strikes. Meal plan transfers are available during the evening meal period.
