Tuition and Spending Money
Each student receives a bill for tuition and fees in mid-July for Fall semester and early December for Spring semester. Payment in full is required by the due date on the bill unless the school's monthly payment plan (Educational Computer Services, Inc.) is utilized. Credit card payments for tuition are not accepted at this time. For 2003-2004, the comprehensive fees are $33,274.00. First year students should add $100.00 to this amount for their New Student Orientation fee. Upperclass students who pay board to fraternities or eating houses may need to adjust the board line item.

The comprehensive fee does not include miscellaneous expenses or books. Transportation to and from school should be considered in computing the entire cost. Books may cost as much as $900-$1,000 per year. The college bookstore accepts cash, checks, Cat Cards, and major credit cards. Students should not buy used books until they are sure what their professors will require as course text requirements may change.

Recreation requires spending money. Students receive free tickets to college and athletic events, but there are costs for food, transportation, and out-of-town games, etc. The student activity fee covers many social and cultural events on campus, but some others are extra. Most students, even those on the nineteen-meals-per-week plan, need additional money for snacks and extra meals.

CatCard
The CatCard is an excellent way to provide your student with spending flexibility on campus. The CatCard is a declining balance card that is accepted at Vail Commons, the Union Café, the college bookstore, Baker Sports Complex, and the Laundry. The card cannot be used off campus, at an eating house or fraternity, or to pay a student's balance on their account. Any funds not used by the end of the year can be refunded, but withdrawals mid-semester are not permitted. Deposits can be made to the CatCard via cash, check, or credit card.
