Student Organizations

Student-led organizations form the heart of Davidson’s religious life. Our Religious Life Council, which meets monthly and is chaired by the College Chaplain, provides a forum for students, faculty, staff and area clergy to share information about religious activities and to discuss the spiritual needs of the campus community.  For information about the meeting times of these groups, contact the College Chaplain by email or at 704-894-2423.

Campus Outreach
C.O. nurtures Christian discipleship through outreach events, fellowship, small group Bible study, and leadership training.

Canterbury Club
Episcopalian students gather each week with a priest from St. Alban’s Church to celebrate the Eucharist, share a meal, and enjoy fellowship.

Catholic Campus Ministry
CCM celebrates Mass weekly on campus. Students also gather for meals, centering prayer, retreats, and service projects.

Gospel Choir
Rooted in the African-American tradition, this group meets weekly for fellowship and great singing.

Hillel
Hillel at Davidson provides opportunities for the celebration of Jewish holidays and the exploration of Jewish heritage and faith.

Hour of Communion
An opportunity for weekly worship and Bible study.

Interfaith Fellowship
Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and students of other faith traditions, or those who are spiritual seekers apart from organized religion, join together for meals, discussion, and visits to a variety of houses of worship.

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
IVCF seeks to build a collegiate fellowship which engages the campus, in all its ethnic diversity, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Methodist Fellowship
The Methodist College Fellowship meets in large and small groups throughout the week to study scripture, explore theological questions, and form Christian community. Activities include social outings, service projects, retreats, and international spring break mission trips.

Muslim Student Association
The MSA helps Muslim students find their place in the college environment.  The MSA also celebrates Muslim holidays and promotes peace and cooperation with all other religious groups on campus.

Orthodox Christian Fellowship
OCF gathers weekly for fellowship and reflection on life and faith within the Orthodox tradition.

Reformed University Fellowship
RUF is the denominational college ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  RUF seeks to equip students to live all of life under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  It sponsors Bible studies, dinner discussions, and other small groups and one-on-one relationships.

Sanctuary
Service, faith, and active concern for social justice, human rights, and peace from a Christian perspective are what drive Sanctuary. Activities include weekly meetings, housing the homeless during winter months, activism on campus, and an annual Alternative Gifts Fair at Christmas.

Westminster Fellowship

Westminster creates a faith community for students in conjunction with the Davidson College Presbyterian Church, furthering students’ education by exploring issues related to Christian faith through speakers, retreats, Bible studies, and service to the community.

Young Life
Young Life offers Davidson students a chance to engage in Christian ministry with local high school students, and to explore leadership in YL ministry through the Quest small group gathering.
