Career Services has
contracted with an online careers software provider, CSO Research, to provide
you 24/7 access to opportunities under the name eCareers. To take full
advantage of our services, you will need to complete or update your profile on
the eCareers system.

Login to Your eCareers Account
1) Go to
www.davidson.edu/careers
(OR simply click on the Davidson eCareers logo on the eCareers homepage).
2) Click on eCareers puzzle piece logo.
After logging in, take a
look at the main menu bar along the top of the screen.

Know Your Username and Password
The Career
Services office has established an eCareers account with a user name and
password for you.
Your user
name is your full Davidson email address (i.e.
liwestley@davidson.edu).
Your password is your birth date in m/d/yyyy format (i.e. 3/14/1981)
unless you changed it.
Click on the Forgot Password link to reset your password.

MY ACCOUNT--Complete Your eCareers Profile, Upload Documents and Publish
Resumes, and View Your Activity
This section
houses sections entitled My Profile, My Documents, and My Activity.
Complete your Profile
Click on My
Profile. If you have not logged in before, only your name, email, and
graduation year is pre-entered.
To input additional information to your profile:
Click
on the Edit link on right side of the page.
Complete the following 5 parts of your profile: Personal Information,
Demographic, Undergraduate Activities, Additional Information, and
Miscellaneous.
Required fields have an “ * ” next to them. Memo sections
above headings can provide additional tips on completing the profile.
Upload Documents and Publish Resumes
Click on My
Documents. Follow the instructions to upload resumes, cover letters, and
other application materials.
Note: It is
strongly recommended that you have your resume critiqued by a Career Services
staff member before uploading or publishing your resume.
View
your Activity
Click on My Activity to see for which jobs you have applied, for what
career events you are registered and which mentor records you have viewed.

ORGANIZATION
DIRECTORY—Access information on employers and graduate schools.
You can
access information on organizations (potential employers and graduate schools)
that have a relationship with Davidson College. Contact information is
provided so you can contact people within an organization even if there is no
position posted. You can search by Organization Name, City, State or
Category.

JOBS—Apply for current job and internship postings.
Search and apply for jobs through eCareers. Note the search tips offered at
the top of the Job Search screen.
Tips
for Searching
Consider using the keywords field. The system will search for your keywords
in Job Title and Job Description fields. Also, keep your search parameters
as broad as possible to begin and narrow if you need to do so.
Saved Searches
To save search criteria, click on the Save Search link at the top left of the
search results. You can access this search from the homepage of your
eCareers account.
Applying for Positions
To apply for positions, follow the instructions in the Application
Instructions Field. In many cases, you will be applying for positions
electronically through the eCareers system, where you can select the documents
you have uploaded. If this is the case, there will be an Apply for this Job
button at the top middle part of the job profile screen.

jobs for which interview dates are scheduled.
Search for and apply for jobs with upcoming interview schedules.
Tips
for Searching
Rather than
searching individual fields like industry or job function, consider using
keywords. The system will search for your keywords in multiple fields.
Keep your search parameters as broad as possible and narrow if you need to.
Applying for Positions
You will apply for positions electronically through the eCareers system, where
you can select which of the documents you have uploaded you wish to use for
the applications. Click on Apply for this Schedule to apply.

CAREER
EVENTS--View and sign up for upcoming Career Services events.
This
link allows you to see what kinds of events are on the Career Services’
calendar and to RSVP to attend events. Learn when workshops, fairs, industry
panels, and resume reviews are taking place.
Sort events by Event Title, Dates or Location by clicking on any of these
underlined words.
View details about an event by clicking on the Event Name.
You
will receive a confirmation e-mail of events for which you sign up, and the
events will appear on your personal calendar when you log in and under the
RSVP’s tab of My Account.

MENTORS—Find
the names and contact information of alumni interested in providing career
advice.
You can
search for Davidson alumni with an interest in providing career advice by
industry, job function or geographic location.
After
entering search criteria, you will see a list of matching mentors. You can
sort the list by Mentor Name, Employer/School Name or Industry by clicking on
these headings.
Click
on the first or last name of the contact’s record you wish to access.

Keep your
search parameters as broad as possible to begin and then narrow if you need to
do so.
