Ali Raza received a BFA with distinction in painting from National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan in 1992 and a MFA in Drawing and Painting from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 2001. He taught drawing and painting at the University of Minnesota as an adjunct faculty member for two years before joining Appalachian State University as an Assistant Professor in 2004. Raza works in painting, mixed media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and digital imaging. His artworks have been part of several international shows.
