Daron Acemoglu, Elizabeth and James Killian Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will deliver the annual Cornelson Distinguished Lecture in Economics. Dr. Acemoglu has been named Foreign Policy's 100 Global Thinkers for 2012 and won John Bates Clark Medal in 2005. The Bates Clark Medal is given annually to the best economist under the age of 40. He is also co-author of the bestseller, Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty.
