Tirtzah Bassel is an Israeli artist currently based in New York. Her drawings, paintings and site-specific duct tape installations explore the permeable borders between public and private domains in subways, barbershops and airport security zones. Tirtzah studied at the Jerusalem Studio School in Israel and has an MFA from Boston University. Her work has been exhibited internationally and reviewed in HyperallergicNY Daily Reportynet, and The Forward. She received a 2011–12 LABA Artist Fellowship at the 14 Street Y in New York and is currently a resident of the Chashama Visual Arts Program in Brooklyn.
