Archaeology Lecture - Mound Construction and Ritual at Feltus

UNC-Chapel Hill anthropology professor and noted archaeologist, Dr. Vincas P. Steponaitis will present an illustrated lecture on his recent work at an ancient Native American site in Mississippi. The lecture, "Mound Construction and Ritual at Feltus, an Ancient Ceremonial Center in Mississippi" (a late woodlands site ca. AD 750-1000 near Natchez), will be given on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. and is co-sponsored by Central Carolinas Society of the Archaeological Institute of America and Davidson's Anthropology Department. The lecture will be in the Visual Arts Center Semans Lecture Hall, Room 117 and is free and open to the public.
