Davidson College again presents a symposium for Shakespearian scholars and theatre practitioners as part of the 2007 Royal Shakespeare Company Residency, in keeping with the academic mission of the RSC at Davidson Residencies. “Like an Old Tale Still” consists of three days of workshops, discussions, panels, arts events, and two RSC productions. Guest lecturers include experts in Shakespeare’s Late Plays and theatre practitioners.

Registration

Cost: $180 when registration is received prior to January 3, 2007
         $200 for late registration

Registration costs include all workshops and events listed above* along with one $50 ticket (promenade for The Winter's Tale), one $68 ticket (seat for Pericles), the opening breakfast reception, the post-show reception with the cast on Saturday, February 10th, Sunday night dinner with the RSC creative team, and closing reception (heavy appetizers) with the guest scholars on Monday, February 12th.

*Tickets to the St. Louis Quintet are additional.

Registrants are on their own for lunch and dinner Saturday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday and Monday.

Accommodations

The Hawthorn Suites in nearby Cornelius, NC (5 miles south of the college, off I-77 exit 25) is holding a limited number of rooms for symposium attendees February 9-13. To reserve rooms, call the property directly at 704-892-9487 and mention you are attending the symposium at Davidson College to recieve the reduced rate of $69.00 per night. (Please note registrants will need to provide for their own transportation to and from the accommodations/campus).
