Pericles. RSC Associate Director Maria Alberg directs Days of

When
King Leontes of Sicilia falsely accuses his wife of adultery, his
single-minded jealousy results in the destruction of his family,
as wife and children are lost to illness, grief, and abandonment.
Sixteen years pass before his daughter, lost in the pastoral haven
of Bohemia, undertakes a journey that will heal her family’s
wounds. The updated setting spans the paranoia of the 1950s to 1969
Woodstock.
*A post-performance
discussion with cast members follows the February 14 performance.

Written
in response to Much Ado About Nothing and performed by Dominic
Cooke's Pericles and The Winter's Tale Company,
Roy Williams' play is set in market-town England and the deserts of
Iraq. Two young soldiers join their friends to binge drink the night
before they leave for active service. Their complex love lives and
mortal fears directly affect their tour of duty. Williams looks at
how naive and malformed moral codes of these young men have catastrophic
reverberations for the West's moral authority. (Not suitable for children
under 18.)
*A post-performance
discussion with cast members follows the February 15 performance.

Direct
from the RSC Complete Works Festival, Tiny Ninja Theatre is a New
York City based company of "Tiny Ninjas" as found in vending
machines across the city and other 'assorted dime store figures.'
First appearing as part of the New York International Fringe Festival
in 2000 it is the brainchild of puppeteer Dov Weinstein, who presents
tiny versions of Shakespeare's plays to small audiences. Ninja takes
the role for the first time in Shakespeare's great tragedy which sees
new and innovative stage effects for the inch-high cast, and television
screens enabling a greater insight into the action.
