Davidson College is committed to this premise: an excellent liberal arts education is one of the best investments a family can make. The intellectual challenge and individual attention students receive at Davidson serve our graduates for a lifetime. Because Davidson is committed to enrolling talented and motivated students from all social and economic backgrounds, the college follows a need-blind admission policy. Thus, financial circumstances of students and their families have no bearing on admission decisions. In cases of financial need, Davidson makes every effort to help families find ways to meet college expenses. In keeping with nationally accepted standards, the financial aid program at Davidson rests on the assumption that students and their families bear the primary responsibility for paying the costs of higher education. However, the college offers comprehensive guidance on need-based financial aid, merit-based awards, federal and state programs, and other financing strategies. We encourage prospective students and their families to work closely with the Office of Admission (704-894-2230) and Financial Aid (704-894-2232) throughout the admission process. Our staff is committed to helping make a Davidson education feasible for each qualified applicant. |
