| Need-based Financial Assistance | ||||||||||||
Because Davidson is committed to enrolling talented and motivated students from all social and economic backgrounds, the college follows a need-blind admission policy. Thus, financial circumstances of students and their families have no bearing on admission decisions. Approximately one-third of the students in each entering class are eligible for need-based assistance. Davidson strives to meet up to 100% of the demonstrated financial need for all accepted applicants. We evaluate each financial
application according to these guiding principles: Need-based aid applicants must notify us of the amount and source of all non-Davidson awards that they receive. As a rule, outside awards will replace rather than augment the need-based financial aid package we have offered. To the extent possible, we will replace loans before we replace grants. We encourage prospective students and their families to work closely with the Office of Admission (704-894-2230) and Financial Aid (704-894-2232) throughout the admission process. Our staff is committed to helping make a Davidson education feasible for each qualified applicant. |
