Davidson provides
an impressive number of merit-based scholarships in diverse categories
designed to make this college a realistic choice for your education. Davidson
makes such awards to approximately 18% of each entering class without
regard to financial need. Through merit-based scholarships, Davidson seeks
to honor your accomplishments and potential while providing an excellent
opportunity for an unparalleled college experience.
Our merit-based scholarships
range from $1,000 to more than $36,000 (comprehensive cost, to include
tuition, fees, room and board) and are annually renewable. In order
to be considered, a student’s application for admission must be completed
by January 2. Notification regarding merit-based scholarships will
be made on or before April 20.
Merit-based awards
are grouped into three major categories:
General Scholarship Awards
Every admitted student is considered automatically for General Scholarships
on the basis of the strength of the candidate’s application for admission.
Awards range from $1,000 to $15,000 annually and can be renewed for the
recipient’s remaining three years, provided grade point average and progress
toward degree requirements are met. No separate scholarship application
is required for these awards.
