Competition for admission to Davidson is quite keen; we receive applications from many more qualified students than we are able to enroll. In most years, transfer applicants who are offered admission have earned a B+ or better average at their present college and have outstanding high school records and strong standardized test scores. Character, integrity, and potential contribution to the college community are also important in our selection process. Davidson accepts transfer credit from other colleges and universities approved by a regional accrediting agency, provided each transferred course is consistent with the academic objectives of the college and the grade earned in the transferred course is comparable to a Davidson grade of "C'' or better. Credit for one full academic year at another college or university is normally transferred to Davidson as eight courses. The Registrar determines the amount of credit that can be transferred to Davidson. Davidson will accept a maximum of 16 transfer courses toward graduation. The maximum number of transfer courses accepted for the major is determined by the major department. Transfer candidates are encouraged to contact us as soon as they become interested in Davidson.
To apply, please submit the items listed below (opening and printing forms with the free Acrobat Reader), with your $50 non-refundable application fee, to: Davidson

While interviews are neither required nor evaluative, we encourage any prospective transfer student to visit Davidson, to review a list of Frequently Asked Questions, and to note transfer-related deadlines on the financial aid calendar. If you have application questions, please contact either the application processor, Janis Beam or Deborah Hogg, Senior Assistant Dean of Admission & Transfer Coordinator via email, or call 704-894-2230 or 800-768-0380.
