Application Methods
 

Davidson welcomes talented international students as a vital part of the campus community. The student who has lived and studied abroad has much to share with the members of our college community. We look forward to learning more about each international student through the application process.

Admission Requirements
1) Prior to enrollment at Davidson, an international applicant should have completed a program of study at the secondary school level expected of a student preparing for university entrance in his or her own country.

2) All applicants must take the SAT available through the College Entrance Examination Board in Princeton, New Jersey. Applicants in South America, Central America (except Mexico), Europe, Africa or Asia (except as noted below), write to CEEB, Box 592, Princeton, N.J. 08541-0592, USA. Applicants in Australia, Japan, Formosa, the Philippines, or Mexico, write to CEEB, Box 1025, Berkeley, Calif. 94701-1025, USA. Results for the SAT must be sent directly to Davidson by the testing agency.

3) Non-native English speakers must provide evidence of fluency in English through recommendations, writing samples, and successful performance on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), also available through the College Board.

To register for the TOEFL, write to the College Entrance Examination Board, Box 6151, Princeton, N.J. 08540-6151, USA. The College Board number for Davidson College is 5150. Results for the TOEFL must be sent directly to Davidson by the testing agency.

4) International applicants must submit the Certification of Finances form, which is required for issuance of an I-20 to admitted students.

Please be aware of delays inherent to international mailings and be timely in the application process.

Application Fees
NO APPLICATION FEE IS REQUIRED of international applicants. Applicants who are U.S. citizens for whom the fee is a financial hardship may request a fee waiver from his or her guidance office.

 

Financial Aid
A very limited number of students who are non-U.S. citizens receive financial assistance each year. These funds vary in amount and are based on a combination of need and merit.

If you wish to apply for financial assistance from Davidson, you must complete the International Student Financial Aid Application, along with the Certification of Finances form.*

*NOTE: All international applicants must submit the Certification of Finances form, which is required for issuance of an I-20 to admitted students.
