The Physical Plant Department maintains the grounds, roads and sidewalks covering the entire 491 acres of Davidson's main campus of 1,556,332 sq. ft. of building space. Also maintained are 109 acres and 14,497 sq. ft. of the Lake Campus buildings and grounds. Facilities Statistics

Arboretum: Arboretum Map 04-05
The Davidson College Campus is a nationally registered arboretum displaying a major collection of woody plants that thrive in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Physical Plant Grounds Department maintains an arboretum database as well the labeling of more than 3,000 trees and shrubs on campus. You may obtain a map from the Physical Plant work order desk in Jackson Court # 9 for a self guided tour that highlights 40 significant trees and shrubs.
