Compliance Certification Report

Federal Requirement 4.6 - Recruitment materials

Recruitment materials and presentations accurately represent the institution's practices and policies.

Judgment of Compliance

Davidson College is in compliance with Federal Requirement 4.6.

Rationale for Judgment of Compliance

As noted in Comprehensive Standard 3.4.3, the College is consistent in presentation of practices and policies, yet also in the manner in which it seeks to recruit students that would be suitable for the experience of Davidson College.

Recruitment materials distributed by the Office of Admission and Financial Aid represent the mission of the College and institutional recruitment polices.  Davidson’s Admission and Financial Aid Web site also aids in the recruitment of students by providing applicants with any information they may need about the College’s campus and admission policies.  All recruitment materials provide a wealth of knowledge for prospective students, their families, secondary schools, and any transfer students interested in applying for admission.

The College presents the offerings of Davidson to prospective students that would be suitable for admission and enrollment based on their noted academic achievements, personal interests, potential course of college study and career goals.  This initial communication encourages them to access the Davidson College Web site, which is the College's leading tool for sharing information with prospective students and their families, secondary school counselors, and others.  In the summer of the senior year of high school, students are sent view books that comprehensively illustrate the offerings of the College’s academics, student life, community, and policies.  Additional materials are mailed throughout the fall, including literature about the College's academic profile, financial aid, merit based scholarships, and notification of programs being hosted.
