Certification Report
Comprehensive Standard 3.4.13 - Qualified academicians are responsible for degree programs
For each major in a degree program, the institution assigns responsibility for program coordination, as well as for curriculum development and review, to persons academically qualified in the field. In those degree programs for which the institution does not identify a major, this requirement applies to a curricular area or concentration.
Judgment
of Compliance
Davidson College is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.4.13.
Rationale
for Judgment of Compliance
As per the Faculty Handbook, the first responsibility of a department chair is to direct the academic program of the department. Each department chair is a tenured member of the faculty. Concentrations are directed by faculty liaisons; each faculty liaison is a tenured or tenure-track member of the faculty. All of these individuals have obtained a terminal degree in the appropriate disciplines. Curriculum Vitae for chairs and faculty liaisons may be accessed below.
