Compliance Certification Report Comprehensive Standard 3.4.12 - Faculty are responsible for curriculum The institution places primary responsibility for the content, quality, and effectiveness of its curriculum with it faculty. Judgment of Compliance Davidson College is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.4.12. Rationale for Judgment of Compliance Responsibility for formulation and implementation of educational program and policy resides in the Faculty (Davidson College Constitution, Article II.4 and III.2). The Faculty Committee on Educational Policy has two major responsibilities: establishing curricula, curriculum requirements, and academic standards; and regulating and changing academic departments (Faculty Bylaws, Article IV.D.2.a). Academic departments regularly evaluate their curricular offerings for effectiveness. In particular, departmental external reviews occur on a seven-year cycle. A primary role of an external review is to assess the department’s curriculum (Faculty Handbook, 2.3.1.B). Supporting Documentation Return to Table of Contents for Compliance Certification Report
