Comprehensive Standard 3.2.4 - Governing board: undue influence on members

The governing board is free from undue influence from political, religious, or other external bodies, and protects the institution from such influence.

Judgment of Compliance

Davidson College is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.2.4.

Rationale for Judgment of Compliance

The Board of Trustees of Davidson College is self-perpetuating; trustees representing Presbyteries are confirmed by them but are not elected by them.  Trustees are bound by North Carolina General Statute 55A-8-30 which states that a trustee may not benefit from inappropriate external influence.
