Picasso at the Lapin Agile

By Steve Martin

Directed by Ann Marie Costa

"Picasso bubbles with flamboyant fun!" - The Charlotte Observer

"Picasso a masterwork... brilliant." - The Leader

The year: 1904. One year later, Albert Einstein will publish his special theory of relativity. Three years later, Pablo Picasso will paint Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. Ever wonder what wouldn've happened if they had met? Well, so did Steve Martin. The place: A bar in Paris. The scenario: Martin's hilarious interpretation of an imagined meeting between the two as yet unknown competitive young geniuses. Science and art collide in this delightful comedy about humanity's often bizarre ways of "seeing" the world.

The Davidson College's Theatre Department's premiere performance in the brand new Duke Family Performance Hall.

"Three thousand laughs!" - WABC-TV
