A liberal arts education is widely recognized as the best preprofessional training for physicians. It exposes students to the world of ideas in science and the humanities, it deepens understanding of the human condition, and it enhances the development of humane instincts.

The mental discipline growing out of a rigorous liberal arts education prepares premedical students to meet the challenges and shoulder the responsibilities that await them as medical students and physicians.

Most Davidson students are interested in  allopathic medicine (M.D.), but osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, and dental medicine are options.
